How to Divine Technology scam works

There is a Delhi based company which has sites like comboshopping.in, dealsforholidays.com, etc. They sell some kind of travel packages. Now these people might have call centers where people call from a different number. And this numbers are not recorded in Truecaller. If you are getting any of fake calls then never ever attempt or agree on anything. Even if HDFC Bank officially calls you and offer you some product or services tell them to send you a written letter or an email regarding the product/service with contact details of a person. If you allow or accept a request on phone then HDFC Bank is not going to give you refund. These banks promise smooth operation and effective customer care support. But when there is really a problem they just behave weirdly. Because I am the victim and till yet I am not getting any answer. Instead of stopping companies like Divine Technologies, bank charges their consumers. They do not have any liability or responsibility either to guide or stop such things. This in return hurt their reputation. In this post I will provide you a few tips through which you can protect yourself from such faulty schemes.

  • The scammer mostly calls to HDFC Bank Credit Card customers. As they already have a record and data of this.
  • They will verify your personal details on the phone. Like ending four digit of credit card numbers, your date of birth, address, etc.
  • The call will in a format that you will believe it is an official call from bank. As HDFC Bank officially does not mark or provide details of numbers from which we will be getting new products and services. There is no such information on their official site also. They are also not having any spam/scam/fraud reporting column where we can find out which companies on which name and through which number is duping people.
  • Call mostly comes on the registered mobile number of your bank account.
  • First thing if they call just ask them to send you in written about all the services on your postal address or on your email id. Do not accept any phone services from HDFC Bank. Most of them are fake.
  • Second it is very easy for scammers to generate a netsafe virtual credit card and run a phone verification ivr procedure. Learn about this. Because Bank will never call you and tell you that these processes can be manipulated.
  • Third if somehow you made a transaction of approved a phone request, immediately login to your HDFC netbanking and check the transaction status. Or call the customer care about this. And ask them to block the payment. Download a charge back form, fill it and send to HDFC Bank.
  • If you do this as early as possible then bank will pay you or they will straight away deny.
  • It is better to switch your bank accounts to any other reputed bank if you deal with such frauds. Because it is quite clear that your personal details are not safe and still in future you will get such spam calls.
  • HDFC Bank does not has a direct hotline number of any kind of specific email id or any other type of communication through which a account holder can immediately report them and can block such frauds. So that in future others does not fell in trap.

And the last thing whatever happens its only your mistake.
